Our first book reports!

The boys had their very first book report.
They had to decorate a pumpkin like the character from the book they chose and answer questions about the book.
Z read this book at his pediatrician's office and REALLY, REALLY wanted to do his book report on it.  We had to beg to borrow the book.  He just loves Dolphins (and whales).
H was easier. He loves Curious George and he likes making pancakes (as well as eating them) so he was sold on this book as the one he wanted to do his report on, from the moment he knew he had a report to do.

what a golfer!

Last week Z got a treat and went golfing with Papa C and Daddy.  (H. was home sick getting some Mommy attention).  We thought he'd just go along and enjoy getting to help drive the cart.... boy were we wrong!  He played the whole thing right along with Daddy and Papa.  He even told them his arms might be sore tomorrow!

Mr Adventurous!

A week or so ago we took the boys to Stone Mountain.  (which btw is a monadnock not a mt).

The boys love going here.  We play mini golf, take a train ride, do the kid's ropes course, take the gondala to the top.... that's our usual list.  This time Z was extra adventurous.  While H was doing the kids ropes course again ...... he LOVES it, especially the zip line at the end.... Z decided he was up to trying something new. He decided to try the climbing rock.  He has never done this before.  Closest thing he has tried is the very low climbing rocks on the kids playgrouds (usually  around 6' high).  We were very impressed w/ him trying this....especially as H said no!  Its usually H that is the first one to try some new activitiy. (H tried the more grown up ropes course at Wonderworks in FL this summer.. 36' high, while Z said no way.)  So Z took on this challenge!  He just barely made it size/weight wise to be able to get to do it.  The whole line was chearing for him.  It was great!  He made it to the top and hit the buzzer!  And then he was still in adventurous mode and decided to try the grown up ropes course that they have at Stone Mt too!  They call it the Skyhike and it is 4 stories high.... and Z took Daddy all the way to the top level! (and this time H, who had done the one in FL, thought he'd sit this one out).

our music lovers...

we have budding songwriters... everyday its a new song. usually about Elmo, or Clifford.
Today they are singing about an Elmo party. He has napkins, plates, cake etc... oh yeah and then he has a holiday.....

they keep me laughing.

the bowling pose

I just love the pose at the end. He kept doing that over and over- the cute crossed leg at the end.

Bowling with the boys!

Fun at the circus

Fun at the circus

The boys had the opportunity to get up close and personal at the circus the other day. Here is just a bit of the fun they had.

so many new things!

The boys have a few new things they are trying out lately. New bikes, skates, and a skooter too! They have been having lots of fun. A few things we let them try out indoors... but the bikes had to wait for a warmer day. Luckily we are in the South and its been a warm winter! So they got to try out their birthday bikes pretty much right away. (Unfortunately the very first day they had to share one new bike as the other frame had an issue and we had to get a replacement part.... but that has been remedied now and they both have a bike w/ training wheels to ride around the neighborhood).

We had to go out and buy elbow and knee pads before our first outdoor attempt at skating.... it is much easier on the very flat kitchen floor!! Have to say I love these little kids skates. They allow you to lock the front wheel so it can't roll backwards. We only have one pair of skates and one skooter. I have to say its working out fine so far..... good lesson on sharing (ha ha). They take tuns and switch, and no complaints so far.

H's tries out skating ... in the house

z tries it too!
